Nancy Drew books were the first books I read when I was learning to read “just for fun” in about the 4th or 5th grade. I was introduced by my cousins and read the first one when I was away visiting their family. I received some for birthdays, etc., but my mother gave away a lot of them to younger family members. That’s what we did with toys and books, which is how I lost my cupie doll and my schmoo clock. I’m old now and I’ve had a lot of years to get over whatever bitterness I might have felt about that. [sigh] So here are two Drews that are in pretty good shape.
